Wiz Word Search for Kids Ages 6–8

Friendly grids, words you actually know

£5.90

Word search is the puzzle most kids will finish first, and for good reason. It doesn’t ask much, and the small “found it” win comes thick and fast. This book leans into that. Eighty grids, sized big enough that a six-year-old can comfortably circle a word with a pencil, themed around things kids genuinely talk about: dogs, dinosaurs, ice cream flavours, weather words, football positions.

We’ve kept the tricks out for now: every word reads left-to-right or top-to-bottom, never diagonal, never backwards. Diagonals show up in the next book.

A good first puzzle book, a sensible “for the train” buy, and one of the few books on the shelf that genuinely entertains both six- and eight-year-olds without anyone feeling patronised.
